Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 25, 2026
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Jo Designs Stuff is the graphic design practice and brand of Yue Zhou, an independent designer based in Buffalo, New York, United States. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Yue Zhou operating Jo Designs Stuff.
This policy explains how we handle personal information through jodesignsstuff.com, its contact, member and shopping features, and related inquiries and business communications. Project scope, payment terms, intellectual property and confidentiality commitments are addressed separately in the applicable design services agreement. This policy does not grant permission to publish a client's private information, work or testimonial.
For privacy questions or requests, email jodesignsstuff.studio@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
Inquiries and correspondence. Our Contact form asks for your name, email address, the type of help you need, and your message. We also receive information you choose to provide in emails and follow-up conversations, such as your business, project requirements, budget or timing. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is not needed for your inquiry.
Client administration. If you engage us, we handle the contact, billing and project information needed to prepare a proposal, administer the engagement and provide the agreed services. This can include business and billing addresses, authorized contacts, contracts, approvals, supplied content, invoice details and payment status. These details are requested as needed; they are not all required by the website Contact form.
Member accounts. If you choose to create or use a website member account, Wix processes the registration and sign-in information you provide. If you choose Google or Facebook sign-in, that provider processes your sign-in and supplies the account information authorized through its sign-in flow. Account registration is separate from sending us a Contact inquiry.
Shopping and payments. When you use the website shop, Wix processes your cart and shopping activity. The checkout's customer-details step asks for your email address, first and last names, and phone number. If you make a purchase, we receive the customer and order information needed to handle the order, delivery, support and accounting. Payment services collect the payment and billing information needed for the option you select. For commissioned design work, our default invoicing channel is Square; this is separate from the website shop. We handle relevant billing, transaction and payment-status records. Please do not send card numbers or online-banking credentials through the Contact form or email.
Technical information. Wix and services used by the website receive technical information when your browser connects to them. This includes IP addresses and browser/device information, requested pages, timestamps, session identifiers, and activity or error information needed to operate, protect and measure the website. Cookies and related technologies are explained below.
3. How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries; understand, quote and deliver requested design services; operate member and shopping features; provide order and customer support; manage invoices and business records; meet applicable accounting or legal obligations; and maintain website functionality, performance and security.
We do not upload inquiry or customer contact details to advertising platforms. We do not submit your personal information or nonpublic project materials to generative-AI tools such as ChatGPT for our design or business work. This is separate from automated security and fraud-prevention processing used by website and payment providers.
We do not currently send newsletters or bulk promotional email. Contacting us does not subscribe you to marketing messages. If we introduce an email newsletter, we will offer a separate subscription choice and a way to unsubscribe.
4. Services that handle information
Information is handled by the services needed for the features you use:
-
Wix: website hosting, Contact-form technology, website membership, shop functionality, and related operational and measurement services. See Wix's Privacy Policy.
-
CookieYes: our cookie banner and preference controls. CookieYes processes technical information, which may include IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser information, consent identifiers, timestamps and your choices, to provide the controls and keep consent records. See CookieYes data-processing information.
-
Google / Gmail: messages sent to or from our business Gmail address are processed through Google's email service. Google reCAPTCHA is also used in the website's member sign-up flow for abuse prevention. See Google's Privacy Policy and reCAPTCHA information.
-
Square: invoicing and payment processing for custom design work where a Square invoice is used. See Square's privacy notice for customers.
-
Website checkout providers: the shop displays payment options such as PayPal, Pay Later, Venmo, Apple Pay and Google Pay, depending on availability. Their services process information when loaded or used, and the selected payment service handles the information needed for payment. Wix's checkout also loads Forter fraud-prevention technology, which receives technical and interaction information and uses browser identifiers to assess risk. See Forter's Services Privacy Policy.
-
A sign-in provider you select: Google or Facebook processes its own sign-in service. Review the information requested by that provider before continuing.
Additional handling of personal information needed for a particular design project will be addressed in the relevant project arrangements or notice.
We may disclose relevant information when necessary to comply with a legal obligation, respond to a lawful request, protect rights or safety, or obtain professional advice concerning the business. Disclosures remain subject to applicable confidentiality and legal obligations.
These providers' notices explain their own processing; they do not replace this policy's explanation of JDS's handling of your information. Links to Etsy, social networks or other external websites lead to services with their own privacy practices.
5. Cookies, website measurement and browser signals
The website uses Wix cookies and browser storage for functions such as security, session management, page delivery and diagnosing errors. Examples include XSRF-TOKEN, hs, svSession, bSession, server-session-bind, client-session-bind and fedops.logger.sessionId. Which technologies are used can change with the feature you open, such as member sign-up or the shop. Google's reCAPTCHA processes technical and interaction information for security when that feature is loaded. Checkout also uses payment-session storage and fraud-prevention identifiers, including Forter's forterToken.
Wix also receives website activity and diagnostic events for operating and measuring the website. Wix's cookie information describes its platform technologies.
Third-party services loaded through the website may recognize a browser or device across visits and other websites where their services operate. For example, Forter explains that it uses information across its merchant network to improve fraud detection. This security processing is distinct from uploading JDS customer contact lists to advertising platforms.
Cookie choices. We use CookieYes with Wix to manage website cookie preferences. Optional cookie categories are disabled before you make a choice. Use Accept All to allow them, Reject All to keep them disabled, or Manage Cookies to review the available categories and cookie information. Necessary technologies remain enabled for functions such as security, session management and remembering your choices.
You can reopen Cookie Settings at the bottom of the website to change or withdraw your choice. Preferences apply to the browser and device you use; clearing browser storage or using another browser may require you to choose again. Rejecting optional cookies does not stop essential service and security requests, delete information you have already submitted, or remove business records we need to retain.
Browser signals. Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) are different browser signals. Our current setup does not automatically change a saved cookie preference in response to either signal. Optional categories are off before a choice is made; use Cookie Settings to review or change a saved choice. We do not currently use advertising pixels or upload contact lists to advertising platforms. We will reassess these controls and this notice if our services, tracking practices or applicable obligations change.
You can also use browser settings to block or delete cookies. Doing so may affect sign-in, shopping and other website functions. Browser cookie controls do not remove information already submitted to us.
6. How long we keep information
We keep information according to its purpose, our relationship with you, and applicable legal, accounting and dispute-resolution needs. Inquiry correspondence is retained as needed to address the inquiry and related follow-up. Account and order records support the relevant account, purchases, customer service and business-record obligations.
For commissioned projects, our current internal retention rules provide for keeping routine production archives for at least 90 days after handover; these archives may be deleted afterward, subject to the applicable project agreement and any retention requirement. The rules provide for keeping signed agreements and change orders for at least six years. Related records may need to be kept longer for unresolved disputes or legal obligations.
These project periods do not mean that all website data is deleted after 90 days or that every inquiry is kept for six years. Provider-managed logs and backups can have separate retention cycles. A deletion request may be subject to necessary legal or recordkeeping exceptions.
7. Your choices and requests
You can contact jodesignsstuff.studio@gmail.com to ask about information we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. Include enough detail to identify the relevant inquiry, account, order or project. We may ask for proportionate verification before releasing or changing information; please do not send identity documents unless specifically requested through an appropriate method.
We will consider your request under applicable law and explain relevant limits, such as records we must retain. Your legal rights depend on the laws that apply to you and the processing involved. Where applicable, these may include access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, restriction or withdrawal of consent. You may also have a right to complain to your local data-protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not invalidate processing carried out before withdrawal.
8. Security and location of processing
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and business activities involved. No website, email service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Please provide only the information needed for the service you request.
JDS operates in the United States, and the online providers we use operate internationally. Information may be processed outside the country where you live. Their applicable privacy notices and data-processing terms describe their locations and safeguards; this policy does not promise storage exclusively in the United States.
9. Children and updates
The website is intended for people seeking design services and digital products and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review it and take appropriate action.
We may update this policy as the website or our practices change. The current version and its effective date will be posted on this page. For a material change, we will provide a prominent website notice and, where appropriate or required, direct notice to affected people. We will obtain any additional consent required by applicable law before applying a new use that requires it.
